I have windows 10 home on a home network connected to an ASUS AC3200 router. The router has provisions for connecting a printer to it for sharing printer jobs. In order to do this, the printer port has to be set as an LPR port. The problem is that the laptop now wont stay awake if left idle and wont totally shut down either. Aug 16, 2018 · Open the Asus router setup page. Go to WAN settings and choose the connection type, whatever you have. Type the internet information and press ok. Update Asus Router Firmware- Sometimes, you may have the Asus router not working problem due to the outdated firmware. So you should not forget to check the firmware update.

Thank you for your reply. My router is an ASUS RT-AC56R dual band. I have it set for 2.4 GHz. when I try to connect to the printer. I worked for an hour with a tech specialist from ASUS to try to solve the problem. Unfortunately, after trying several different options they told be the problem was with the printer and to contact HP for support.
